Every Thursday I will be choosing and posting a TED Talk that I think should be shared with you. I will not go at length about the benefits of it; they speak for themselves! Instead, I will provide you with the quick presentation blurb for it from TED Talk. You take it from here! This week, the TED Talk I choose to share with you is:
“The art of asking“
with Amanda Palmer
Don’t make people pay for music, says Amanda Palmer: Let them. In a passionate talk that begins in her days as a street performer (drop a dollar in the hat for the Eight-Foot Bride!), she examines the new relationship between artist and fan.
I have been a fan of the Dresden Dolls for several years now. For some reason that escapes me (since I tend to research and learn more about artists I love) I had not gotten further involved in discovering more about her until about a year ago. I am making up for lost time… Her book “The Art of Asking” delves deeper into the topics from this TED Talk. I can’t wait to have the book available in the digital library… Check out her website!!
