Avery’s Fantastical Tales: Chapter Seven: A Vixen of the Early Morning

There are those in the animal realm for whom trust is still their default reaction, even if they act a little skittish when saying hello. Her red coat shone in the early morning light, soft dew coated the forest floor. This young Vixen was out without any of her small family. Long had this young Fox been warned of the outcasts, but her curiosity was piqued.

Fox approached a small outcast structure that looked only half complete. Inside were huddled a few outcasts still asleep, five cubs and two adults. The younger of the two adults awoke, she looked at the fox through bleary eyes and did nothing, she merely looked at the fox. The outcast lay back down so as not to awake the others and continued to look at the fox, and the fox at her. For a moment all was peace.
